MS Dhoni might be a retired international cricketer. However, the wicketkeeper-batter continues to ply his trade for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). While the T20 league is the only competitive cricket tournament that he plays in the year, Dhoni works hard on his fitness to stay at the top of his health when the tournament finally gets underway. And now with less than a week to go for the start of IPL 2024, Dhoni can also be seen in great touch with the bat.

If visuals from CSK's batting practice sessions are to be taken at face value, Dhoni looks in fine form. A recent clip that has gone viral shows him smashing sixes with ease, much like the vintage Dhoni that first burst on to the international cricket scene in 2004.

CSK vs RCB To Kick Off IPL 2024

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2024 opener at the MA Chidamrabam Stadium in Chennai on March 22. While CSK are the defending champions who recorded their fifth title victory after beating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad last year, GT will have a new captain this time around with Shubman Gill at the helm of affairs this time around.

RCB, meanwhile, haven't played an IPL final since 2016 which was when Virat Kohli was the captain. Although Kohli is no longer the captain, he is pretty much part of the leadership group with Faf du Plessis being the designated captain. RCB have hinted at a name change at the RCB Unbox event on March 19 (Tuesday).
