A partial schedule for the seventeenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is out. The tournament, which was already confirmed to commence on March 22 by IPL chairman Arun Dhumal, will kickoff on the said day with a South Indian Derby as defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the season opener.

Among the two latest entrants in the tournament, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will begin their campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on March 24 (Sunday) in what will be a day fixture set to commence at 03:30 pm (IST). Only four fixtures of LSG's schedule have been announced so far. After their campaign opener against RR, they will lock horns against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at their home venue in Lucknow on March 30 before taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Giants (GT) on March 30 and April 2 respectively. The RCB fixture would be an away match for LSG before they host GT. The remaining three matches will all get underway at 07:30 pm (IST).

Notably, the rest of the schedule will be announced by the organisers only after the announcement of the Lok Sabha Election dates. The tournament is happening in India despite a clash with the elections on the cards.
