Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who are enjoying an impressive run in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, are set to face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 14.
Ahead of this key fixture, the team has received a major boost as speedster Mayank Yadav has reportedly been declared fit by the Centre of Excellence (COE). He is expected to join the LSG camp on April 15 and is likely to be available for the match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on April 19.
Mayank's return a timely relief for Lucknow Super Giants
With Lucknow Super Giants facing some concerns in the pace department, Mayank's return is a welcome development. Sources at the NCA confirmed that he has fully recovered and is ready to play. "Mayank is fit and available for selection. He's eager to get back on the field," said a source familiar with the matter.
The tearaway pacer has been out of action since sustaining a back injury during the T20I series against Bangladesh. Just as he was nearing a comeback, a toe injury further delayed his participation in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, casting doubts over his availability for the season.
A boost for LSG's campaign
Despite his absence, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have performed well and currently sit fourth on the points table with four wins in six matches. Mayank's inclusion is expected to bolster the bowling attack as the team looks to solidify its position in the top four.
