On Sunday, fans witnessed unreal innings from Kolkata Knight Riders’ batter Rinku Singh as he smashed 29 runs in the final over against Yash Dayal of Gujarat Titans. Rinku smashed five back-to-back maximums against Dayal and helped KKR win the game by three wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Yash Dayal registered the second-most expensive figures in the history of the IPL after giving away 69 runs in his four overs off his quota. Even though Yash was expensive, KKR showed a heartwarming gesture by posting a message for Yash on its official Twitter handle.

“Chin up, lad. Just a hard day at the office, happens to the best of players in cricket. You’re a champion, Yash, and you’re gonna come back strong” KKR captioned the post.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also shared a tweet where he wrote, ” IPL is truly a place where talent meets opportunity. Unbelievable innings, Rinku! And tough luck Yash, one to learn from.”

For Gujarat Titans, stand-in skipper Rashid Khan was the star with the ball after scalping 3 for 37. Alzarri Joseph also picked up 2 wickets after leaking 27 runs.

Apart from Rinku Singh's heroics, Venkatesh Iyer also played a terrific inning of 83 runs in just 40 balls for  Kolkata Knight Riders. The newly made skipper Nitish Rana also smashed a fine 29-ball 45-run knock. Earlier, after batting first, Gujarat Titans posted a massive total of 204 for 4 in 20 overs, with Sai Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar scoring half-centuries. For KKR, Sunil Narine took three wickets by giving away 33 runs.
