The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has designated a timeframe from April 7 to May 20 for hosting the 2025 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This scheduling would most likely overlap with the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), as it traditionally takes place between March and May. The adjustment in PSL 2025 dates is attributed to Pakistan's hosting of the 2025 Champions Trophy scheduled for February-March.

This decision follows a meeting between the PCB and the six franchise owners of the PSL, held in preparation for their General Council meeting at the Gaddafi Stadium on May 4 (Saturday). Since its arrival in 2016, PSL has consistently been scheduled to occur in February and March, with the exception of 2020 and 2021. In those particular years, although the event commenced in February as usual, it concluded in November and June, respectively, due to the pandemic causing disruptions to the original schedule.

"Due to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 being held in the traditional event window, the event window for the 2025 event will be 7 April - 20 May," the PCB mentioned in a statement released on May 4.

Additionally, it has been determined that Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi will serve as host venues for the PSL 2025 league matches, while the playoffs will be conducted at a neutral venue. If the proposed schedule proceeds as planned, it will mark the first instance of the PSL and the IPL directly competing against each other.

PCB Picks Lahore As Sole Venue For Team India Matches In ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Earlier the PCB proposed Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore as the main venue for all Team India matches during the Champions Trophy 2025, aiming to streamline logistics and enhance security. Lahore, along with Karachi and Rawalpindi, is suggested as a preferred venue for the ICC event in February-March 2025. This proposal is made to facilitate Indian fans' access, given Lahore's proximity to the Wagah border. The ICC will gather feedback from participating nations before finalizing the venues.
