Mitchell Marsh Injury Update, IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals (DC) continued their miserable run in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as they lost their fourth match of the tournament when they faced Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 7 (Sunday). However, what's even more concerning is the report of their star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh sustaining a hamstring injury, raising the possibility of him being sidelined for an extended period of time.

Due to Marsh's hamstring injury, Jhye Richardson was included in the lineup for the MI vs DC match. As a result, Delhi Capitals were without an additional batter, which ultimately contributed to their 29-run loss in a high-scoring contest.

DC's assistant coach, Pravin Amre, revealed that Mitchell Marsh may potentially be sidelined for at least one week of the IPL 2024.

Following DC’s loss to MI at the Wankhede, Amre elaborated on Marsh's injury status: "A few of our players are injured, and the worrying sign is Mitch Marsh. He has gone for a scan, and the physios will give us a report in a week's time.Then we will come to know what the exact situation is. Whether he can (play the entire season) or not depends on the reports."

Mitchell Marsh began the season as an opener but moved to number three when Prithvi Shaw returned to the playing eleven for the third game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He sustained the injury during the fourth IPL 2024 game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) while bowling. Although he did come out to bat, he was dismissed for a two-ball duck.

Injury Woes For DC In IPL 2024

Currently, three key DC players - Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav and Mitchell Marsh - are sidelined with injuries. Both Mukesh Kumar and Mitchell Marsh are dealing with hamstring injuries, while Kuldeep Yadav is sidelined due to a groin niggle.

“We have to start winning but have been set back by a few injuries. In the first game, Ishant (Sharma) couldn't bowl two overs. Then Mukesh got injured. Kuldeep has not played three games."Marsh has a hamstring injury. They are our main players, and whoever comes (in for them), they are not as effective because it is like A players vs B players there," said the DC assistant coach.
