In what comes as a huge setback for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), their 'injured' captain KL Rahul's further participation in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is subject to clearance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India and National Cricket Academy (NCA), Cricbuzz reported. Also, BCCI is set to take hold of Rahul's case from the franchise. KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper batter, is part of the Indian team announced for the upcoming IND vs AUS World Test Championship (WTC) Final and him getting injured comes as a setback for the national team as well.

Rahul suffered a hamstring injury during the 43rd match of IPL 2023 -- Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Lucknow Super Giants -- held at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Monday (April 1). On the final delivery of the second over in LSG vs RCB IPL 2023 match, KL Rahul stumbled near the boundary while chasing the ball. He looked in serious pain and then didn't take the field. BCCI or Lucknow Super Giants are yet to share an official update regarding how serious KL Rahul's injury is but the star middle-order batter will surely miss the next few matches in IPL 2023

As per the report, KL Rahul is still part of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and will miss his team's IPL match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday (May 3) at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. In KL Rahul's absence, senior all-rounder Krunal Pandya will lead Lucknow Super Giants today against Chennai Super Kings.

What if KL Rahul gets ruled out from India's World Test Championship squad vs Australia?

India is going into the final of IND vs AUS World Test Championship with only one wicketkeeper i.e KL Rahul. It is believed that KL Rahul was picked in WTC Final squad despite his prolonged lean patch due to KS Bharat's injury. If KL Rahul gets ruled out of the final of the World Test Championship, then definitely a wicket-keeper batsman will be brought in as his replacement.

Lucknow Super Giants, in their previous fixture, lost to Virat Kohli-starrer Royal Challengers Bangalore in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match by 18 runs. Earlier, LSG had defeated RCB by one wicket in their previous fixture at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
