The defending champions of the Indian Premier League will be in action in the first match of the TATA IPL 2022. The first match of the tournament will be played between Chennai ad Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). 


CSK is the second-most successful team behind Mumbai Indians. They won the competition in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. 


The 4-time champions could not buy back every player they wanted from last season, they still managed to pick up skilled players to ensure their combination would not be affected.
