The 1000th Indian Premier League match became memorable for Mumbai Indians as they sealed victory over Rajasthan Royals by six wickets. Tim David was the man of the hour as he smashed a hat-trick of sixes in the first three balls of the final over and helped his team win the game at the Wankhede Stadium. It was a special occasion for MI skipper Rohit Sharma as he turned 36 on Sunday and also led the side for the 150th time in IPL.

However, he failed to deliver with the bat as he got out against  Sandeep Sharma on the final ball of the second over after scoring just 3 runs. The MI skipper was looking to make room and hit the ball but then the ball moved from him and he got out. However, according to the videos surfacing on social media, it was seen that Sanju Samson’s gloves dislodged the bails, not the ball.

Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals opted to bat first and put on a massive score of  212/7 with Yashasvi Jaiswal's maiden IPL hundred (124 off 62 balls). In reply, MI lost skipper Rohit Sharma early but then Suryakumar Yadav came with an eye pleasant knock of 55 runs off 29 balls alongside Tilak Varma, David, and Green's knocks helped the five-time champions seal a much-needed win.

In bowling, Arshad Khan was the star after he scalped  3 for 39. Veteran spinner Piyush Chawal concluded the game with  2 for 34 with speedster Jofra Archer seen bowling with his full rhythm and also taking a wicket after giving away 35 runs.
