Background
IPL 2021, DC Vs PBKS: Punjab Kings have come off a defeat against CSK. They got all-out for 106 in the first innings which the CSK chased easily in the 16th over itself. DC also scored less in their previous match against RR. They scored 147 which the RR managed to chase in a close match. So, both the teams have a problem with middle-order batting. Mumbai’s surface is usually known for its big scores but the last two matches of DC and PBKS have proved otherwise.
Delhi Capitals won the toss in Match 11 of the IPL. They decided to field first at the Wankhede. Something that is expected of all the matches which are played at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. At the toss, both captains were confident about their teams' performance and did not make a lot of changes in the side. KL Rahul brought in Jalaj Saxena in place of Ashwin and Rishabh Pant made the ultimate change of bringing in Steven Smith in place of Tom Curran. Both teams are going with a batting heavy side.
Let's read what the captains said at the toss:
Rishabh Pant: We will like to bowl first. In the second innings, there is dew, so we need to make use of the first 10 overs. I have been talking with the senior players and Ricky Ponting. Two changes. Smith comes in for Curran. Meriwala also comes in. Smith can help us at the top.
KL Rahul: Hopefully we'll be able to make runs on this wicket. It's a good pitch to bat on so we need to make the most out of it. Ashwin misses and Jalaj Saxena comes in.
