After seven long years, under young talented batsman Shreyas Iyer's captaincy, Delhi Capitals managed to enter playoffs last year for the first time since 2012, by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by two wickets. Franchise Delhi Capitals, originally founded as Delhi Daredevils in the year 2008, is the only team that has never qualified for the finals of the T20 League. For the 12th season (2019) of the IPL, Delhi Capitals decided to retain their fourteen players and traded their former player Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The franchise will aim to win the IPL 2020 title this time with strong experienced players like R Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan to guide them.
