Delhi Capitals bowled remarkably well to restrict Chennai Super Kings to 179/4 on Saturday. After the departure of Sam Curran in the first over, the experienced batting pair of Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis stitched a solid  87-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. However, after their stand was broken, CSK lower order batsmen increased the tempo to propel their team to a respectable total in their allotted 20 overs.

Delhi Capitals winning tonight's game against Chennai will help them dethrone Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians on the top of IPL 2020 points table, whereas a win for Dhoni-led CSK will help them survive and keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the play-offs.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bat first against Delhi. The season of outstanding catches in IPL 2020 continued with Anrich Nortje showcasing his brilliance in the field as he bagged a a brilliant catch on the boundary line to send in-form Sam Curran back to the pavilion off youngster Tushar Deshpande's very first over. Dhoni's idea to send Curran as an opener proved to be a great move in the last game but tonight it failed.

Shane Watson was the new man in and joined opener Faf du Plessis in the middle. Axar was introduced into the attack early on after the DC fast bowlers managed to keep the CSK batters bat silent for the first 15 balls. The duo looked in great form with the bat and after a slow start helped CSK race away to 39 in the end of the powerplay.

After first six overs, everything was going fine for both CSK batters. After Axar failed to get the breakthrough, Ashwin, who was very economical with the ball in his last game, was introduced into the attack in the eighth over. The veteran yet again proved why he's one of the smartest in the business and he kept a tight grip on both Faf and Watson to give away just 4 runs off his first over.

Anrich Nortje provided the much-needed breakthrough for his team by getting Shane Watson clean bowled for (36 off 28) to break a 87-run stand between him and Du Plessis. Ambati Rayudu was the new man in with Chennai looking to increase the tempo now.

MS Dhoni walked in after the departure of Du Plessis but he yet again failed to deliver again and guide his team to to a big total. Rayudu was timing the ball nicely and was joined by Jadeja. The duo kept the scoreboard ticking with help of some singles and few boundaries.

In the death overs, Jadeja scored a fiery 13-ball 33 to help his team score 179/4 in 20 overs.
