Return catches are one of the most difficult aspects of cricket especially when the ball has been hit back hard by the batter. The reflex action by bowlers is often to save themselves if a shot has been timed perfectly by the batter. However, Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner Lalit Yadav grabbed a stunning catch off his own bowling in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday (May 10).

Lalit Yadav's epic fielding effort was witnessed in the first ball of the 12th over of CSK innings. Rahane had come played that down that ground but the bowler dived to his right up until the point where the non-striker usually stands but he has reached there in time to grab a superb catch to dismiss the right-handed batter.

The video of the off-break bowler's fielding effort was shared by the league's official social media handle.

The off-spinner had bowled well in his first two overs but his third over went for 23 runs with Shivam Dube hitting him for two sixes followed by Ambati Rayudu smashing a six and a four which meant Lalit finished with figures of 1 for 34 in 3 overs.

As far as the match is concerned, MS Dhoni-led CSK won the toss and batted first. On a tricky surface, they posted 167/8  in an innings which was studded with several useful contributions. Dube top-scored with 25 off 12 while Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 24 from 18 deliveries. Rayudu too got 23 off 17 along with Rahane's 21 off 20. However, cameos from MS Dhoni (20 off 9) and Ravindra Jadeja (21 off 16) took the team past 160. CSK then got off to a dream start with Deepak Chahar getting rid of David Warner in the very first over of the run chase.
