New Delhi: Mahendra SinMS Dgh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings has become the first team to reach IPL 2021 playoffs. The same team which had last season missed out on qualifying in the playoffs. Under Dhoni's mentorship, Chennai has secured the top spot in IPL 14 Points Table.

Meanwhile, Indian cricket team's head coach Ravi Shastri described MS Dhoni as the greatest captain ever in white-ball cricket. Shastri believes that Dhoni has achieved almost everything that a captain can achieve.

“Dhoni is the greatest white-ball captain ever. Just look at his record in ICC tournaments. What has he not won? IPL, Champions League, all ICC tournaments, two World Cups. There is no one close to him when it comes to white-ball cricket. He has to be the greatest. King Kong, you can call him in that fashion,” Shastri told Fan Code.

“When you see Dhoni captaining a side, and you see Chennai Super Kings (CSK), there’s that assurance and calmness of things in control. The other side might me whacking sixes or fours but you still get the feeling there is this composure and control,” Shastri concluded.

The Indian cricket team is all set to get a new head coach after the T20 World Cup. Several media reports have suggested that Ravi Shastri will submit his resignation after his contract as team India's head coach ends post the T20 World Cup.

As per a report in PTI, Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI might approach Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman to apply for team India's head coach position once Ravi Shastri completes his tenure after the T20 World Cup.
