New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have reached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take part in IPL 2021 Phase 2. The Yellow Army has also started practicing for the return of IPL. CSK skipper MS Dhoni was spotted sweating himself out during a net session. It seems that the legendary wicket-keeper batsman is looking to get in full swing before the start of the tournament and that's why he's hitting long sixes in the nets.
A video has been posted by the official Twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in which Dhoni can be seen hitting sixes one after the other and almost every time the ball travels outside the field.
What was more interesting than watching Dhoni's batting in this video was that after hitting sixes, he started searching for the ball with fellow players and even managed to get some balls out by entering the bushes.
One of the best finishers in the game, MS Dhoni has been constantly under the scanner for his slow batting in IPL. But after seeing Dhoni hammer some stunning strokes in the nets, it seems that he is all geared up to hit back at his critics in the second phase of IPL 2021.
In the last year's IPL, Chennai Super Kings performance was quite poor. For the first time in the history of the league, CSK had missed out on qualifying for the play-offs. Dhoni too was out of form as he was able to score 200 runs in 14 matches and could not score even a single half-century. Chennai had won only 6 out of 14 matches. However, forgetting the past, CSK made a great comeback in IPL 2021.
Before the IPL 2021 was postponed due to Covid-19, CSK had won 5 out of 7 matches and the team was second only to Delhi Capitals in the IPL 14 points table.
