New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday defeated defending champions Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in a one-sided match. During the match, Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard and Kolkata's young speedster Prasidh Krishna were involved in a heated moment.

The incident happened in the 15th over of Mumbai Indians' innings. In the fourth ball of the 15th over, Pollard defended a perfectly pitched delivery from Prasidh Krishna with a straight bat. The ball went back towards Krishna, who managed to get a grip on it but after this, walked towards Pollard while pretending as if he would almost throw it back towards him.

After seeing Krishna's on-field antics, Pollard seemed a bit angry and uttered a few words to the young bowler. Krishna decided not to escalate things and quietly returned back. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Talking about the match, Kolkata won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first. The Rohit-led Blue Brigade got off to a flying start but later were choked by Kolkata bowlers and were restricted to just 155 runs for loss of 6 wickets. The target was easily achieved by Kolkata in the 19th over after losing just three wickets.  This is Mumbai's second consecutive defeat in IPL 2021 Phase 2.

Prasidh Krishna bagged three wickets against Mumbai. However, he was quite expensive and gave away 43 runs. Pollard scored 21 runs off 15 balls. Kolkata have registered two consecutive wins. With a win over Mumbai, they have moved up to the fourth position in the IPL 2021 Points Table.
