New Delhi: Virat Kohli’s weak performance during this season of IPL has become a little concerning. Kohli hit only one boundary in three games so far and that one also came during the super over against Mumbai Indians on Monday. As a total in the three-game, Kohli has managed to score only 18 runs.

During IPL 2020, Virat Kohli seems to be struggling. In three games, Kohli has scored 14, 1 and 3 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab, and Mumbai Indians respectively, taking his tally to 18 runs in three games.
These are the worst scores ever since the beginning of the tournament in 2008. IPL in 2008, he made 37 runs in three games. In 2009, he had 64 runs in the first three matches of the season. In IPL 2019, Kohli had combined to score 55 runs after the first three games.

Meanwhile, Sunil Gavaskar, the former captain of the Indian cricket team believes that the Kohli will bounce back in the later games, he believes that though Kohli is has had a slow start he will cover his scores in the latter part of the games.
After the match, Gavaskar said on air on Monday, “He’s a class act everybody knows that. So what if he’s had 3 quiet matches, he’s the kind of batsman who will make up for it towards the end.”
He continued “He may have started slowly but by the time the tournament ends he will have 400-500 runs which are what he gets every year. There was that one year when he got almost a 1000 runs (in 2016) and hundreds as well (4). He may not get 900 runs (in IPL 2020) because the first 3 matches have been quiet but 500 runs totally, they are all written there.”
These comments come after he had made unsavory comments about Anushka Sharma which landed him in hot waters with cricket fans recently, he clarified saying that his comments were taken out of context.
