New Delhi: Ninth season of the Indian Premier League starts on Saturday with defending Champions Mumbai Indians taking on new franchise Rising Pune Supergiants at the Wankhede Stadium.
In all, 60 matches will be played during the tournament with the 8 franchises -- 2 of them playing for the first time -- taking on each other on home and away basis. Each team will get 14 matches during the league stage. Four teams with maximum points in the league round will advance to Playoff stage. The Finalists will be decided through Qualifiers and Eliminator.
The final will also be played in Mumbai.
