India vs Sri Lanka: The third and final ODI of the three-match One-Day-International series between India and Sri Lanka is being played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
Ahead of the match, some die-hard fans of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni put up a massive 50-feet cut-out outside Thiruvananthapuram's Greenfield Stadium in Kerala to pay tribute to the two-time World Cup winning skipper. A Twitter handle by the name CSK fan army shared pictures of cut-out with the caption “MS Dhoni standing tall in Kerala”.
A 'cut out' war had unleashed in India ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Giant cut outs of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr were put by fans on the banks of Kerala's Pullavoor river. The trend started with Argentina fans who first placed a massive cut out of Lionel Messi right on the riverbank.
India, playing the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka today in Kerala, have already won the three-match ODI series 2-0. Post the conclusion of this series, India will host New Zealand for a white-ball series comprising of 3 ODIs followed by as many T20Is after which the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy will get unnderway in February.
