New Delhi: Ind vs SA, 1st Test Day 2's play was washed out without a single ball being bowled due to persistent rain in Centurion on Monday. It started raining lightly in the morning, but by afternoon it started raining heavily.


Twice the rain stopped but whenever the umpires decided to inspect the ground for the play to resume, it rained heavily on both occasions and just before the Tea break, it was announced that the umpires had decided to cancel the second day's play.

The good news is that the forecast for the next two days is good. Also, 98 overs will be bowled each day for the remaining game.Team India will resume their 1st innings on day 3 with 272 for 3.


The weather is expected to remain clear on day 3 of Ind vs SA Boxing Day Test. According to AccuWeather.com, it won't rain in Centurion on Tuesday.


According to the report, there will be heavy rain in Centurion till Monday night, but the sky is expected to be clear on Tuesday. Tomorrow i.e. Tuesday, Day 3's play will start at its scheduled time and there will be an additional half hour of play in the third session.

At Stumps on Day 1, India had reached 272/3. Opener KL Rahul (122 off 248 balls) and Ajinkya Rahane (40 off 81 balls) remained unbeaten at the crease.
