New Delhi: The third and final match of the Test series between India and South Africa is set to be played in Cape Town from January 11. The three-match series is currently tied at 1-1 and the team that wins the decider will also clinch the series.
After defeat in Ind vs SA Johannesburg Test, Team India will aim to make a comeback and defeat the hosts in the final Test to win their maiden Test series in South Africa. For this, the Indian players have started practicing.
Team India players are practicing fiercely and would like to win the next match at any cost. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday tweeted a picture from the practice session of the Indian team and wrote, "We are here at the picturesque Cape Town. #TeamIndia begin preparations for the 3rd Test."
Ind vs SA 3rd Test will be played in Cape Town from January 11 to 15. India, trying to win their first-ever Test series in South Africa, started off brilliantly with a 113-run win in the first Test match at Centurion but suffered a seven-wicket loss in the second Test at Johannesburg.
The Indian team had reached Cape Town on Saturday. India went into the second match without skipper Virat Kohli but head coach Rahul Dravid had expressed hope that he would be fit for the series decider. Kohli had a stiff back during 2nd Test and in his absence, KL Rahul took charge of the team.
Mohammad Siraj, who got injured during the second test match, might miss the Ind vs SA 3rd Test. Senior speedster Ishant Sharma or Umesh Yadav might replace him in the playing XI.
