New Delhi: India vs South Africa 2nd Test of the three-match Test series is currently being played at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Team India ended Day 2 with a fifty-plus lead after all-rounder Shardul Thakur's 7-wicket haul helped the visitors bowl out South Africa for 229 runs in their first innings.


Meanwhile, Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant attained a huge milestone in Test cricket as the 24-year-old completed his century for catches in Test cricket. Pant completed his 100 catches in Test cricket as soon as he caught Lungi Ngidi behind the wicket off Shardul Thakur's delivery.






Rishabh Pant has become the fourth Indian and world's wicket-keeper to take 100 catches in Test cricket. He has now joined the elusive list of wicket-keepers Mahendra Singh Dhoni (256), Syed Kirmani (160) and Kiran More (110) to become the 42nd wicket-keeper to take 100 catches in Test cricket.


Earlier in the Ind vs SA Centurion Test, Pant had become the fastest Indian wicketkeeper batter to complete 100 catches for India in Test cricket. Pant had attained this feat in 50 innings of 26 test matches. MS Dhoni and Wriddhiman Saha are the other wicket-keepers who have completed 100 wickets in 36 Test matches.


Shardul becomes first Indian bowler to take 7 wickets against South Africa


Star all-rounder Shardul Thakur has become the first Indian bowler to take a seven-wicket haul against South Africa, taking 7 for 61 against South Africa. This is the best performance by any Indian bowler against South Africa in the history of Test cricket.
