India vs South Africa ODIs: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday named 23-year-old Washington Sundar as Deepak Chahar's replacement in Indian team for remaining two One-Day-International matches against South Africa. Proteas are already one up in the three-match series. An in-form bowler like Deepak Chahar getting ruled out of the must-win tie comes as a big blow for the Men in Blue. Also, another reason why Chahar's injury is highly significant is because he was considered to be the frontrunner for replacing injured Jasprit Bumrah in India's T20 World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, BCCI's decision to name Washington Sundar as Chahar's replacement was not liked by some fans on Twitter as they trolled the apex board.

"Chahar had a stiffness in his back after the third and final T20I against South Africa in Indore and did not feature in India’s Playing XI in the first ODI in Lucknow. He will now head back to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will be monitored by the Medical Team there," read the BCCI statement which was released on Saturday.

Here are some reactions of fans on Twitter...

Shikhar Dhawan-led team India had to face defeat by 9 runs in the rain-hit Ind vs SA 1st ODI. Both the teams will now play the second ODI on Sunday in Ranchi. After this, the third and final ODI between India and South Africa will be played on 11th October at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
