Shikhar Dhawan Kayaking video: Team India's senior opener Shikhar Dhawan had a good outing on Monday, as the batter posted a video in which he can be seen kayaking with the song 'Pyar ki kashti mein' being played in the background. "When your Monday collides with Pyaar Ki Kashti," wrote Dhawan in the video, while his caption read: "Hope your #monday too collides with #pyaar ki kashti."

Talking about Shikhar Dhawan's cricketing career, the batter was last seen in national jersey during the ODI series on India's tour to Bangladesh. The veteran opener struggled to score runs in that series as he scored 7, 8 and 3 runs in his three outings, respectively and was then dropped from the team for ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Shubman Gill, who was called in the ODI side as Dhawan's replacement, has done well as an opener. The opening pair of him and Rohit did wonders in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan's return to the team seems very difficult at the moment.

It is believed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in the process of phasing out senior players to give more opportunities to young players ahead of 2023 ODI World Cup in India and T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA.

Shubman Gill, who recently became the youngest batter in One-Day-Internationals (ODI) cricket history to score a double ton, has cemented his place in the team by scoring runs wth consistency. Dhawan is  struggling with the bat right now and it is possible that he might not get a chance to play Ind vs Aus ODIs, next month.
