New Delhi: England created history by winning the rescheduled Edgbaston Test between India and England at Birmingham by 7 wickets. With this win, the 5-match Test series ended in a 2-2 draw. India had given a target of 378 runs to England, which the hosts achieved on the final Day after losing just three wickets. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, both played unbeaten innings of 142 and 114 runs respectively. This is the first time that India could not defend a target bigger than 350 runs in Test cricket. Many records were shattered in the Eng vs Ind 5th Test.

James Anderson

Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 416 runs in the first innings. James Anderson took 5 wickets for England. This was the 32nd time Anderson took five or more wickets in a Test inning. With this, he became the oldest bowler to take 5 wickets in an innings of Test cricket. James Anderson is the sixth-highest bowler to take five or more wickets in an innings in Test cricket. Before him, Muttiah Muralitharan (67), Shane Warne (37), Sir Richard Hadlee (36), Anil Kumble (35), and Rangana Herath (34) have attained this feat.

Jonny Bairstow

England's middle-order batsman Jonny Bairstow performed brilliantly in the last Test. He scored 106 runs in 140 balls in England's first innings and 114 not out off 145 balls in the second innings. He has become the third English player to score a century in both the innings of a Test.

Jasprit Bumrah's 100 Test wickets in SENA countries

In the last Test, Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets.  With this, he completed 100 Test wickets in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) countries. Bumrah is the sixth Indian bowler to do so. Before him, Anil Kumble (141), Ishant Sharma (130), Zaheer Khan (119), Mohammed Shami (119) and Kapil Dev (117) achieved this feat.

Jasprit Bumrah batted brilliantly in India's first innings. He scored 29 runs in an over bowled by Stuart Broad and a total of 35 runs were scored in this same over. Broad's over became the most expensive over in Test cricket history.

Joe Root

Joe Root has become the batsman to score the most Test centuries in Fab 4.  In this matter, he has overtaken Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. Kohli and Smith have 27 centuries in Tests, while Root now has 28 Test centuries. Kane Williamson, the fourth player of Fab 4, has scored 24 centuries in Test cricket.

Rishabh Pant

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant scored 146 runs in India's first innings and 57 runs in the second innings.  With this, Pant has become only the second Indian wicketkeeper to score a century and a half-century in the same Test. Earlier, Farooq Engineer had achieved this feat.
