India vs Australia Squad: As the BCCI named the squads for the Australia tour of India, several players who put up a good show during the IPL could not find a place in the team, eliciting baffled response from cricket fans. Among those who were not selected are Delhi Capitals’ Akshar Patel and Mumbai Indians’ Surya Kumar Yadav for the three-match T20Is. Twitter was flooded with response to the squad selection, many fans expressing surprise on non elevation of the two bright cricketers.

Indian Batsman Manoj Tiwary joined the chorus on Twitter and expressed his disappointment on the omission  of SKY and Akshar Patel by the BCCI. Taking a dig he said that some years down the line, few cozy group of people will say that u both were born/played at the wrong era but I would say you could have easily played alongside your competitors .

“Hard luck@akshar2026 and  @surya_14kumar on not making it to the Indian team dis time. Some years down d line, few cosy group of people will say that u both were born/played at d wrong Era but i would say u cud have easily played along side ur competitors,” he tweeted.

“To represent India in cricket in any format. What does one has to have ?? I have my answers ready. What do u all think ?” he tweeted.


The itinerary of the tour is yet to be announced, but tour is expected to be played between November 27 and January 19.

Squad for T20I includes Virat Kohli (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul (vice-captain and wicket-keeper), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson (wicket-keeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy.
