Team India's star middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer has been cleared by the BCCI medical team to join the Indian team in New Delhi for IND vs AUS 2nd Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Iyer will mark his comeback to the playing field after not playing any competitive cricket for almost a month now. Notably, Delhi Arun Jaitley Stadium will be hosting its first Test match since 2007.

Iyer was training at Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy (NCA) under supervision of trainer S Rajnikanth to recover from his back injury. The second Test of the four-match Ind vs Aus Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played in Delhi from Friday, this week. It will be interesting to see whether Iyer gets a chance in the playing XI or not.

"India batter Shreyas Iyer has successfully completed his rehab at the National Cricket Academy following his back injury and has been cleared by the BCCI Medical Team. Shreyas will join the squad in New Delhi ahead of the second Test of the Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy," BCCI said in a media release.
