New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday took to Twitter to wish star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah speedy recovery after the bowler was ruled out from Indian cricket team's T20 World Cup 2022 squad due to a back injury. Sharing the message via its Twitter handle, BCCI said, "Speedy recovery to our speedster." The tournament will start from October 16. Team India will play its first match against Pakistan on October 16.
After getting eliminated from the marquee event due to his unfortunate injury, the ace Indian speedster said he is gutted. Bumrah was earlier ruled out from the ongoing three-match T20I series between India and South Africa due to a back injury.
“I am gutted that I won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup this time, but thankful for the wishes, care, and support I’ve received from my loved ones. As I recover, I’ll be cheering on the team through their campaign in Australia,” Jasprit Bumrah tweeted on Tuesday.
In next few days, BCCI will soon be naming Bumrah's replacement in Indian squad for the T20 World Cup tournament. At the ICC competition, India is in Group 2 with Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, and two qualifiers.
