Aakash Chopra said that KL Rahul will join captain Rohit Sharma to open the innings, while Virat Kohli will continue to bat at number three. After this, keeping in mind the combination of left-right, Akash has selected Rishabh Pant at number four, while Suryakumar Yadav has been included in his playing XI as the number-5 batsman.

After this, Akash has picked Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the playing XI as India's bowling attack.
