New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced the Indian team for the three-match ODI series against South Africa. Senior opener Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed as the captain of the team for Ind vs SA ODIs, while Shreyas Iyer has been made the vice-captain for this series. The Indian cricket team will play a three-match ODI series against South Africa from 6th to 11th October on home soil. Both the teams are currently playing a three-match T20I series in which India are 1-0 up. In the absence of senior players, the selectors have given youngsters a chance to shine.

For India vs South Africa ODI series, Madhya Pradesh's Rajat Patidar and West Bengal pacer Mukesh Kumar have been included in the Indian team for the first time. Apart from Mohammed Shami, all India's reserve players for the T20 World Cup - Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishoi have been selected to play Ind vs SA ODI series.
India vs South Africa 1st ODI will be played on 6th October in Lucknow, the second ODI between the two team will be played in Ranchi on 9th October and the third and final ODI will be played on 11th October in Delhi.
