New Delhi: India's Under-19 team returned home on Tuesday after winning the World Cup for a record-extending fifth time.  India clinched the title by defeating England under Delhi-born Yash Dhull's captaincy. The Indian team had taken a flight from West Indies to Bangalore via Amsterdam and Dubai. The players reached Ahmedabad in the evening, where the BCCI organized a felicitation ceremony for them on Wednesday.


Members of India's Under-19 World Cup winning team were spotted enjoying the second ODI of the three-match series between India and West Indies.


BCCI on Wednesday took to Twitter to share a pic of U-19 team attending the Ind vs WI 2nd ODI at Ahmedabad. The young players were present in the stands to watch their heroes play.






Before India Under 19 team's final match against England in the Under-19 World Cup, Virat Kohli had interacted with the members of the team online.


Talking about Ind vs Eng U-19 WC Final, India defeated England by four wickets to win the Under-19 World Cup for a record fifth time. The most successful team in the history of the tournament, India bowled out England for 189 runs in 44.5 overs. For India, Bawa took five wickets for 31 runs in 9.5 overs while left-arm pacer Ravi Kumar took four for 34.


In reply, India chased down the target with 14 balls to spare for the loss of six wickets.  At one point India were in trouble as they had lost four wickets for 97 and captain Yash Dhul, who scored a century in the semi-final against Australia, was dismissed for 17.  But Nishant Sindhu (50 not out in 54 balls) and Bawa (35) put on a 67-run partnership to get the team out of trouble.


Vice-captain Sheikh Rashid scored a fifty in the second consecutive match. In the end, Dinesh Bana hit James Sales for two consecutive sixes to help India chase down the target in the 48th over itself.
