New Delhi: Virat Kohli-led India will be locking horns with South Africa in a 3-match series with the series opener to take place at the scenic Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Ground in Dharamshala. The second and third fixtures of the one day international series will be held in Lucknow and Kolkata respectively.


While India head into the series after getting whitewashed by New Zealand (0-3) in their last ODI assignment, South Africa head into the series after thumping Australia 3-0 in their last ODI series.

While India’s seasoned ODI skipper Virat Kohli will be leading the Indian team, South Africa will be under the command of their newly appointed skipper Quinton De Kock, who took over the Proteas captaincy after Faf Du Plessis stepped down ahead of their limited over series against Australia.

When the two sides locked horns last time faced off in an ODI encounter, it was at the 2019 World Cup in England. where the Indian had beaten the Proteas by 6 wickets in a round-robin match at Southampton.
