New Delhi:Indian skipper Virat Kohli got his name against another batting record after he scored a breezy half ton against New Zealand in the 1st ODI being played at Sedddon Park in Hamilton.

Virat Kohli equalled Sachin Tendulkar's feat of most half tons by an Indian  against the Black Caps in the limited overs format. Kohli registered his 13th 50+ score against New Zealand to equal 'Master Blaster' Sachin who stands atop the list with the same number of 50 or more scores.

Virat Kohli who came into bat at number 3 scored a 63-ball 51 before being out bowled to Ish Sodhi. India posted a mammoth 347-run total against the Kiwis rising high on Shreyas Iyer's maiden ton and KL Rahul's quick fire half ton.


It is interesting that both Tendulkar and Kohli have notched up five tons against Kiwis in their international career. While Sachin's highest against Kiwis was 186 not in Hyderabad in 1999. Kohli's best effort came with a mammoth 154 not out in Mohali in 2016.Virender Sehwag leads the list of ton makers for India against New Zealand in ODIs with 6 centuries to his name.
