LIVE SCORE | INDIA vs ENGLAND | 2nd TEST | DAY 5

VIZAG

FULL SCORECARD

Virat Kohli is the Man of the match. A brilliant batting effort from the 28-year-old. Virat scored 167 in the first innings followed by a crucial knock 81 runs in the second innings.

India have wasted no time to seal this Test match. The visitors fought hard on Sunday but the hosts came back stronger than ever on Monday to clinch the Second Test at Vishakhapatnam. India won by 246 runs and lead the five-match series 1-0.

#WICKET: Jayant Yadav to James Anderson, OUT! INDIA WIN BY 246 RUNS! Decision is overturned and India start celebrating! It's fullish on middle, Anderson tries to defend but misses and gets hit on the pads. India appeal for a leg before but the umpire says not out. India decide to take a review. Replays show it's pitching in line and the ball would have hit the leg stump. Anderson gone first ball and India lead the 5-match series 1-0!

#WICKET: Jayant Yadav to Stuart Broad, OUT! LBW! Broad has to go! Full on middle and leg, Broad gets down on his knee and goes for the sweep. The ball goes off something to the silly point fielder. The Indians appeal loud and hard but the umpire takes his time to raise his finger. Broad has a chat with his partner and takes a review. Replays show there's no bat involved. Time for the ball tracking technology, it shows the ball would have hit the off stump so Broad has to go. India are one wicket away!

#LUNCH: Coming into the final day, this is just what India would have wanted. They have dominated the opening session and ran right through the English batting order.

#WICKET: Mohammed Shami to Adil Rashid, OUT! RASHID DEPARTS! Shami pounds in a short one and it's outside off, Adil Rashid looks to loft it over short third man or backward point but ends up edging it. It's a simple take for Wriddhiman Saha behind the stumps and that's another wicket down for England.

#WICKET: Mohammed Shami to Joe Root, OUT! JOEY ROOT IS GONE! Mohammed Shami has bowled a brilliant over here and he's got the big fish. He fires it on a fuller length and angles it in on middle and leg, Root looks to flick it across the line but misses and is rapped low on the pads. Roaring appeals go up from the entire Indian team and the umpire raises his finger. The England No.3 knew he was gone but Jonny Bairstow told him to take the review, since it's worth taking it. Replays show that the ball is hitting leg stump and Joe is gone. Big, big wicket for India. They need 4 more wickets to win this match.

#WICKET: Jayant Yadav to Ben Stokes, OUT! WHAT A BALL! Jayant Yadav strikes and the bowling change has done the trick. Gets a lot of drift on that and lot of turn as well. He comes from around the wicket and pitches it on off, Ben Stokes stays back to keeps it out but is all squared up. Is completely beaten by the sharp turn and the ball takes the off pole. What a moment for Jayant Yadav, he's got a real important wicket here.

#WICKET: Ravindra Jadeja to Moeen Ali, OUT! Jadeja strikes! Tossed up ball from wide of the crease, Moeen Ali tries to defend but gets a bit of an inside edge. The ball lobs up to the leg side and Kohli gets under the ball from leg slip, runs to his right and takes a safe catch. The umpire raises his finger and Moeen Ali starts walking back slowly to the dressing room. That was due to the rough, not much turn on offer though.

#WICKET: Ravichandran Ashwin to Ben Duckett, OUT! Duckett gone for a duck! Shortish ball on middle and leg, Duckett gets down on his knee a bit and tries to pull it somehow. The ball goes off the gloves, lobs up off his pads and balloons in the air. Saha moves to his right and takes the catch. India appeal confidently and the umpire has no hesitation in raising in finger. Duckett starts walking back and there are some sad faces in the English dressing room.

India will back their bowlers to do the job though. They need 8 wickets from minimum 90 overs. Expect lots of overs from spin as the spinners got some purchase from this wicket. Should be a cracker of a day if England continue to fight hard. Let's see what do we have in store then!

Hello everyone to the coverage of the final day of the second Test between India and England in Vizag. It's been a thriller of a Test match as England kept on fighting yesterday. The openers battled it out and should give some inspiration for the visitors that if you apply yourself, you can survive. It's going to be different today though on a day 5 wicket which has a lot of cracks and rough patches.
