Former India captain and World Cup winner MS Dhoni has been picked as the captain of ICC T20 Team of the Decade. In this team, maximum number of players (4 players) are from India. Apart from Dhoni, Indian captain Virat Kohli, vice-captain Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah are the Indian players included in T20 Team of the Decade. Apart from India, 2 players each from Australia and West Indies have been picked.

Only 3 major bowlers have secured a place in this ICC team, which is mainly filled with batsmen. The veteran Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga and India's Jasprit Bumrah have been given the responsibility of leading the fast bowling department. Afghanistan's superstar spinner Rashid Khan has been picked as the main spinner of the team.
Team India's star opener Rohit Sharma and West Indies hard-hitting batsman Chris Gayle have been picked as openers. Australian captain Aaron Finch has replaced Indian captain Virat Kohli at number three batting spot. Kohli is at number four.
