New Delhi: The International Council of Cricket (ICC) has announced various awards in the men's and women's category for the year 2021 to acknowledge all the remarkable cricketing performances in its awards ceremony. The year 2021 saw Pakistan dominating the list of winners released on Monday.

Unfortunately, the Indian cricket team, currently undergoing transformation, failed to win a single ICC award. This is the first time since 2016 that an Indian player could not win any ICC award in the men's category.

Pakistani players bagged three ICC awards. Babar Azam was adjudged ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, while Mohammad Rizwan won ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award. Left-arm pace bowler Shaheen Afridi received the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. For the first time ever in the history of ICC annual Awards, Pakistan won three awards.

No Indian player got a place in ICC's ODI and T20 team for the year 2021. Pakistan's Babar Azam was elected as captain of both the teams.
