New Delhi: The national selection committee on Sunday picked up the Indian squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against South Africa. All-rounder Hardik Pandya who has successfully made a return from injury was named in the 15-man squad, while seasoned opener Shikhar Dhawan also came back into the limited overs team. 

The Indian team will be taking on South Africa in a 3-match ODI series with the series opener to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on March 12. The second and third ODI fixtures of the series will be played in Lucknow and Kolkata on March 15 and 18, respectively.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had earlier confirmed that revamped selection committee with a new chairman at helm will pick the Indian squad for the three ODIs against South Africa at home in March. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Sunil Joshi as the new Chief Selector of team India on March 04, 2020. BCCI has also appointed Harvinder Singh as a selector apart from Sunil Joshi.


Cricket South Africa (CSA) have already announced their 16-man squad for the upcoming three-match ODI against India, starting March 12. Former skipper Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen, both of whom were not picked for the three-match ODI series against Australia, make their return to the 50-overs format. Left-arm spinner George Linde has received his maiden ODI call-up for India tour.
