Paris (France): Spain’s Rafael Nadal defeated Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro to enter the finals of French Cup by 6-4, 6-1, 6-2, on Friday. This will be his 11th appearance in the French Open final having been undefeated in the previous 10 French Open finals. Nadal was at one of his finest play, ending with 35 winners and 19 unforced errors as opposed to Del Potro's 20 and 32.

"It was a very difficult first set and Juan Martin had lots of opportunities. He was a little unfortunate," said Nadal after the game on his victory.

Nadal will face Dominic Thiem, who has successfully defeated him twice before in Madrid and Rome respectively. Thiem defeated Italy’s Marco Cecchinato to secure his place in the finals by 7-5, 7-6 (12/10), 6-1. This will be Thiem’s first appearance in the finals of a major tournament. Thiem will take on Nadal in the finals on Sunday.

"Thiem is an amazing player. He beat me in Madrid, he has big power so I have to be at my best and improve," said Nadal, on facing Thiem in the finals.
