Gambhir scored 356 runs in 5 innings with an average of 71.20, forcing selector to consider his name for replacement. Gambhir played his last match against England at the Ovals in 2014 scoring only three runs in 2 innings.
Gautam Gambhir, on Tuesday passed his fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and will head to Kolkata for the match against New Zealand on 30th September.
