ENG vs NZ, ICC World Cup 2019 Final: New Zealand posted a 241 run-total against England in the finals of the ICC World Cup 2019 being played at the Lord's Cricket ground.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat first at Lord's.

Chris Woakes struck early for England trapping Martin Guptill leg before wicket. Once Guptill departed, Henry Nicolls and skipper Kane Williamson stitched a handy second wicket partnership to get the New Zealand innings back on track. Liam Plunkett then produced a fiery spell to remove both Nicolls and Williamson in quick succession .

After the twin strikes, the experienced Ross Taylor and Tom Latham got a partnership going to take the Kiwis near the 150-run mark. Just as the Kiwis looked well settled to step the momentum, Wood struck a major blow to trap Ross Taylor leg before wicket.

Hard hitting all-rounder James Neeshsam then got some quick runs with wicket-keeper batsman Tom Latham . After Plunkett removed Neesham, Woakes struck again to dismiss Colin de Grandhomme. Jofra Archer clean bowled Matt Henry to pick up England's eight wicket.

While Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett ended up with three wickets each, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood picked up one wicket a piece.
