New Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) star opener batsman Prithvi Shaw started training after failing to find a place in the Indian cricket team's 15-member team for upcoming India vs West Indies three-match One-Day-International series against Zimbabwe. Shaw, who hasn't played a single match for India since July 2021, has played five Tests, six ODIs and one T20I in his four-year-old international career. The young batter is yet to establish himself as a regular player of the national team.

Prithvi Shaw scored 283 runs in 10 matches in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with a strike rate of 152.97 while playing for Delhi Capitals (DC). The star batter had won some matches single-handedly with his batting performance for the Delhi franchise.

Prithvi Shaw, leading Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy this year, scored 355 runs in 6 matches at an average of 35.50. Mumbai had managed to make it to the finals of the Ranji Trophy under Shaw's captaincy but Mumbai lost in the final to Madhya Pradesh. Prithvi Shaw was vacationing in the Maldives for some time, after which he returned to Delhi and started training for his comeback.

Shaw has posted a short video from his gym session via his Instagram story, in which he wrote in the caption, "Let’s get back to work."
