Age is just a number and batsman Yusuf Pathan proved it in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Friday. Representing Baroda, the senior cricketer pulled off a one-handed flying catch in a match against Goa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium Vishakhapatnam.

Pathan’s acrobatic act came in the closing stages of Goa’s run-chase. Skipper Darshan Mishal played a powerful cover drive but Pathan dived to his right and completed a blinder.

Though Goa successfully chased down the 150-run target, defeating Baroda by 4 wickets, Pathan’s jaw-dropping take remains the best moment. Once the video surfaced on social media, it went viral like wildfire.

Yusuf’s younger brother and left-arm Indian pacer, Irfan Pathan was immensely impressed with his brother’s act.

India pacer Irfan Pathan is quite impressed with his brother Yusuf Pathan's flying catch during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Goa and Baroda. The former took to Twitter and wrote, “Is it a bird? No this is @yusuf_pathan Great catch today lala. All ur hard work in pre-season is paying off.”

This terrific catch also caught the attention of Afghan spin sensation and skipper Rashid Khan.

“Absolutely stunner @iamyusufpathan Bhai. Ye Pathan k hath hai thakur,” Khan replied to Irfan's tweet.

Irfan then replied to Khan saying: “Haha sahi kaha pathano ke hath or wrist mein jaadu hay...”

In another group A match, Karnataka defeated Uttarakhand to start their title defence in style.
