India vs Bangladesh 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is nearing its climax. After India gave Bangladesh a target of 515 to win in the fourth innings, the openers of the touring party did put on a half-century opening stand. However, their resistance did not last long with Jasprit Bumrah providing the hosts with the breakthrough. However, the wicket belonged as much to Yashasvi Jaiswal as much as it did to the bowler as he completed a stunning catch to see the back of Zakir Hasan.
The catch was crucial as Bangladesh's opening stand had started to become frustrating for the bowlers. The pitch seemed to have eased out and the batters were looking in fluent nick before Bumrah produced the wicket for India. It was a much-needed wicket and Jaiswal made no mistake, pouncing on to the first opportunity that came his way, much to the relief of the entire team.

Shubman Gill Follows Suit
Soon after Shubman Gill too pouched a sensational catch at the short mid-wicket to remove Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam. The second catch was taken in the 22nd over with Ravichandran Ashwin managing to produce a leading edge off Shadman's bat. Gill dived forward to get under the ball with both hands and caught it clear off the ground to get Bangladesh two wickets down.
India's fielding effort was spot on in the first innings as well and they have continued the same in the second innings. Given the series will be crucial with the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points on offer and in preparation for the Australia series, India would look to maintain the same standard on the field.
