India's 280-run win over Bangladesh in IND vs BAN Chennai Test has solidified their position at the top of World Test Championship 2023-25 points table. At present, India now has 86 rating points and a win percentage of 71.67%, further enhancing their lead in WTC standings.


India has recorded wins against West Indies (1-0) and England (4-1), and they now hold a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series against Bangladesh.


Rohit Sharma & Co.'s upcoming matches include one more Test against Bangladesh, three against New Zealand, and five against Australia. They have also played to a 1-1 draw against South Africa and haven't not lost any Test series this season.

As per an ICC report, India must win at least 6 of their next 9 matches to enhance their chances of reaching the World Test Championship final.


This schedule includes one Test against Bangladesh and three at home against New Zealand, along with five Test matches in Australia. To qualify for WTC Final, India needs to be in the top two of WTC points table. Even if they win 5 matches and draw 1, they will still secure a spot in WTC Final.


Australia is currently in second place in ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table. To reach WTC Final, they need to win 4 matches or win 3 matches and draw 1.


Meanwhile, New Zealand occupies third place with 8 matches left to play. For New Zealand to qualify for the final, they must win 6 matches or secure 5 wins and 1 draw.
