Bumrah become the second fastest Indian bowler to scale the milestone after Mohammad Shami. Bumrah got to the 100-wicket landmark in his 57th ODI match, one more than what his fellow paceman Shami took.
Bumrah's ODI wickets have come at an average of 22, the best rate of anyone to take more than 20 wickets for India.
Bumrah has been in rich wicket taking form for India at the World Cup taking 16 wickets in eight games at the Group Stage.
The record for the fastest to 100-ODI wickets belongs to Afghanistan's leg spinner Rashid Khan who achieved the milestone in just 44 ODIs. Australia's Mitchell Starc (52 matches) is next best on the list while Pakistan's off spinner Saqlain Mushtaq is third fastest to get to the landmark.
