WI Vs PAK: Test match cricket is considered to be 'boring' by the masses but the 1st Test between West Indies and Pakistan has defied that presumption. The first game out of the two test match series between Pakistan and the West Indies witnessed a tough fight. In a thrilling encounter, the West Indies managed to win by one wicket. Experienced pacer Kemar Roach and young Jayden Seales were the heroes of the West Indies' victory, who put on a 17-run partnership for the last wicket to give the West Indies a victory that seemed impossible.

Earlier Seales had also taken five wickets for 55 runs. West Indies bowled out Pakistan for 203 runs in the second innings to take a 167-run lead. The host team lost three wickets for 16 runs after which Jermaine Blackwood scored a half-century to take the team to 111 runs for six wickets. Blackwood played a crucial 55-run innings.

Jason Holder was dismissed just before tea, taking West Indies score to 114 runs for seven. West Indies still needed 54 runs to win with just three wickets in hand.  Roach had a 28-run partnership with Joshua da Silva in the last session.

Roach played a very crucial innings

Pakistan had taken the ninth wicket for the West Indies at 151. At that point, it seemed that Pakistan would easily win the match. But Roach took the lead along with Seales. The two players shared a crucial 17-run partnership for the last wicket and the host team managed to secure victory. Roach described the unbeaten innings of 30 runs as the best innings of his 66 match Test career.

Shahin Shah Afridi and Hasan Ali bowled brilliantly for Pakistan. Shahin Afridi took four wickets for 50 runs and Hasan Ali took three wickets for 37 runs.

Test match cricket has time and again proven to be the purest and perhaps the most entertaining form of cricket.
