Keeping all the brilliance with both bat and ball in the recently concluded West Indies-Bangladesh ODI series aside, there was one incident that could easily make it to the list of worsts in the cricket field. The man behind it was Sheldon Cottrell.

Cottrell, who made it to the playing XI only because Andre Russell was ruled out due to an injury, bowled one of most bizarre deliveries ever in his first over.

The left-arm fast medium bowler, in an attempt to give his best, charged to deliver the last but first delivery of the over, just then lost the ball from his hands as it flew directly towards the second slip when he was about to complete his run-up.

It was the bowling attack that let down the West Indian side down when it mattered the most as it cost them the match. However, Rovman Powell’s unbeaten knock of 74 runs off 41 deliveries ignited hope in the fans but ultimately his team could only post 283 runs in 50 overs, falling short by 18 runs from the visitors’ total, which meant Bangladesh took the series 2-1.
