India took the field against England on the third day of the Southampton Test with an only motto – bowl out the hosts as early as possible. Bumrah and Ishant struck early and removed Alaistar Cook (14) and Moeen Ali (9) respectively.

Post these losses, Skipper Joe Root and opener Keaton Jennings took the control in their hands and were rooting for a solid partnership. The duo had already added 59 runs for the 3rd wicket but before they could go further, Mohammed Shami bowled a stunning delivery to crash this pairing.

A back of a length delivery from Shami went directly to thunder Jenning’s pad in front of middle. England were reduced to 92/3 and lunch break was taken with one ball left in that over.

After the lunch break, Shami came with the ball to complete the over while Jonny Bairstow has the strike. The Indian speedster bowled a phenomenal reverse swing which completely bamboozled the Bairstow and bumped into the leg stump.

England went on to lose one more wicket (Joe Root) in the 46th over while they took a 125-run lead by the tea break.
