HITMAN Rohit Sharma stole the show in Mumbai with his blistering 162-run knock against West Indies on Monday. He may have underperformed in the 2nd and 3rd ODI but came back strongly again in the fourth match to help India register a mammoth 224-run win over the Caribbean visitors and take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the series.

The Indian vice-captain not only scored the 2nd century in the ongoing series but also became the 2nd highest run-getter in the series after skipper Virat Kohli. After entertaining the home crowd with his batting, the local boy won a million hearts with his gesture towards the crowd at the Brabourne Stadium.

The incident happened in the 2nd innings when Rohit was fielding near the boundary rope. The fans behind him started cheering him by chanting his name. But he turned around and showed them the word “INDIA” written on his jersey front and asked them to cheer the name of the country instead. The fans obliged by changing their slogan to “India, India”.

As soon as the video went viral on social media, a huge number of people expressed their respect for the cricketer. His gestures indeed showcased his dedication love towards the game and the nation.
