Australia outplayed India by 21 runs in the third and the final ODI of the series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. During the match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma once lost his cool at Kuldeep Yadav. The incident transpired after the final ball of the 39th over when Kuldeep wanted Rohit Sharma to go for a DRS after an LBW shout against Ashton Agar was denied by the on-field umpires. Rohit then took the DRS call but was spotted lashing out at the left-arm spinner for some reason.

Earlier, Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss and opted to bat first in the final game of the ODI series against India. Coming into this game, the visitors made a few changes to their playing XI as David Warner got a place while Ashton Agar replaced Nathan Ellis.

Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh started the proceedings for the Australians and went on to add 68 runs for the opening wicket. Coming down the order, Marcus Stones and Alex Carey played crucial hands of 25 and 38, helping Australia post a decent  269 runs on the board.

In reply, Rohit Sharma started well but then he departed after scoring 30 runs. Kohli alongside Rahul built a crucial 69-run stand but could not help sail India's boat in Chennai. Surya again went to the pavilion on a golden duck by Aston Agar in the 36th over of the final ODI match between India and Australia in Chennai. In the last two ODIS also, Surya did not trouble the scorers.

Australian spinners snared Indian batters as Adam Zappa scalped 4 for 45 runs and Aston Agar took two for 41 runs and conceded just 86 runs in the 20 overs between them. This is the first time since 2019 India has lost a series on three soil.
